Each week I list 5 players I would start, 5 I would bench and 5 I might take a chance on.
Also, by now you should know to start your studs like Manning, Brady and LT, if not, you need more then my help. Now that bye weeks have ended most teams should have their core lineup set up, but some people are in leagues that start 2 QBs or 3-4 WRs, and we all must deal with the ill timed injury, so some owners may still need to adjust or tweak their lineups from week to week.
Also, Remember going forward there will be Thursday/Saturday night games.
1. QB Jay Cutler Den-Coming off his best game of the year where he threw 4 TDs, Houston has a banged up secondary that Cutler will look to attack.
2. WR Marques Colston NO-Colston has looked more like last years stud in the 2nd half of 08 then the early season dud. Colston should be in for another big game when the Saints face the Cardinals, who are giving up the most points to fantasy WRs.
3. Ernest Graham TB-Graham is averaging 93.6 ypg over his last 5 games and has scored 6 TDs in that span, with Jeff Garcia likely to return the Bucs will most likely rely on the run against the Falcons.
4. RB Joseph Addai Ind-Not a lot of yards last week against Baltimore but I'll take his 3 TDs, this week the Colts play Oakland, who is one of the weaker run D's
5. RB Adrian Peterson Min-Last week's 3 yd game probably cost some teams their playoff game, but if you survived you have to play Peterson against the Bears, who he ripped for 224 yds and 3 TDs earlier in the season.
Here are 5 guys to sit this week:
1. WR Donte Stallworth NE-Seems to have been replaced by Jabar Gaffney after a few drops, the Pats have a great matchup with the Jets this week, but the chances for Stallworth seem gone.
2. RB Kolby Smith KC-This guy has been all over this list in the past 4 weeks. He was a major letdown last week struggling and suffering an ankle injury against a week Denver run D. This week he faces a Titans team that has regained their strength against the run with the return of DT Albert Haynesworth.
3. RBs Fred Taylor/MOJO Drew Jax-Taylor has been hot and Drew has not, but this week the Jags face the Steelers in Pittsburgh who only allowed 22 yds to the Patriots last week.
4. WR Javon Walker Den-He will start Thurs. with Stokley out but he is at less then 100% and hasn't been that involved in the offense since his return from yet another knee injury. Also with the resigning of Brandon Stokley, Walker appears to be on his way out of town.
5. RB Clinton Portis Wash-Only averaging 47 ypg over the last 4, but with Collins at QB the Skins will lean on him, but the Giants will stack the box and limit Portis.
Here are 5 guys to take a chance on this week:
1. QB Sage Rosenfels Hou-Rosenfels has filled in nicely for Houston when needed, he has thrown atleast a TD in each game he has played this year.
2. WR Lee Evans Buf-He likes playing with Losman better than Edwards but, the Bills play the Browns who give up a lot of points and Evans tends to come up big in December games.
3. RB Aaron Stecker NO-Look for the Saints to jump out to an early lead through the air and finish with the run with Stecker and Pierre Thomas.
4. RB Laurence Maroney NE-The forecast in New England is for heavy snow on Sunday which may limit the New England passing attack, and force the Pats to rely on the run.
5. RB Thomas Jones NYJ-In the Big chance of the week, I'm using the same reasoning as with Maroney coupled with the fact that the Patriots have been allowing monster games on the ground, and anything can happen in the snow.
