NFL 6 Pack Week 14 Picks

"Do You think these plays will work? Nope! Me Neither!

I'm 26-10 for the season, 4-0 on Thursday games, 18-8 on Sunday games and 4-2 on Monday games, here are this week's picks;

1. Chicago vs. Washington (Thurs.)
The Redskins are coming off tough losses on and off the field in the last week and have only had 2 days of practice to prepare for the Bears. Both teams need this game to keep their playoff hopes alive. Everything points to the Bears having the advantage in this one, but I'm going with the Skins, because I can't see Rex Grossman playing 3 decent games in a row. PICK: Redskins

2. Indianapolis vs. Baltimore
Will the Ravens have anything left after the heartbreaking loss to the Patriots and the short practice week? Talk about tough schedule, Pats and Colts back to back. The Colts may have (stop me if you have heard this before) WR Marvin Harrison back this week. Regardless of the inspired play the Ravens exhibited on Monday, they are still one of the bottom teams in the league and the Colts are one of the top 5. The Ravens will have a tough time containing the balanced attack of the Colts. PICK: Colts

3. New Orleans vs. Atlanta (Mon.)
Not the top tier Monday night matchup ESPN was looking for. The Falcons will be starting QB Chris Redman for the first time this season. The Saints will be without RB Reggie Bush who appears to be out for the rest of the season. The Saints have won their last 3 road games. New Orleans will rely on their passing attack and Drew Brees (100.5 career rating vs. Atlanta) will lead the Saints to victory. PICK: Saints

4. Pittsburgh vs. New England
The game of the week. The Ravens and Eagles have slowed the Patriots machine down the last 2 weeks by putting pressure on Brady, causing his inaccuracy and disrupting receivers routes. The Steelers' D excels at putting pressure on the QB with their "Blitzburgh" style and if the Patriots fail to establish a running game, they will have trouble keeping the Steelers D from an all out assault on Brady. The Steelers have a more potent offense then the Eagles and Ravens, who were both playing with back up QBs and seem primed to light up the struggling Patriots D. Pittsburgh should get S Troy Polamalu and WR Santonio Holmes back this week. For the Patriots there have been some questions as to whether Randy Moss has a (surprise, concealed)ankle injury or has just been lazy the past 2 games. The Patriots can't beat the Steelers if they play the way they have the past 2 games, but the Steelers 3 losses have all come on the road this year. While I think the Patriots play better this week, I think the Steelers will play with confidence knowing lesser teams have had the Patriots on the ropes. PICK: Steelers

5. NY Giants vs. Philadelphia
Division showdown, not as meaningful as usual, but both teams have some form of playoff aspirations to play for. The Eagles are expected to get back QB Donovan McNabb (ankle), who is basically being given a chance to showcase himself for a trade in the offseason. The Giants hope to get back RB Brandon Jacobs (hamstring.) The last time these 2 teams met McNabb was sacked an embarrassing 12 times! McNabb's mobility should be limited and the Giants pass rush will need to protect their suspect secondary. PICK: Giants

6. Miami vs. Buffalo
The Dolphins are fighting for their first win of the year, and I picked them last week thinking, beating the Jets was their best chance, they got hammered at home. RB Marshawn Lynch has been limited in practice but will try to play. I don't see the Dolphins of south Florida going into Buffalo (expected weather: 20's, icy mix) and doing anything but losing and continuing on their way to an unvictorious season. (If the Dolphins go 0-16, will the 76 Bucs get together for a champagne toast?) PICK: Bills
