As a part of the spygate punishment the NFL is stripping the Patriots of their 2008 1st round draft pick. But are the Patriots really worried? They own San Fran's first round pick for 2008 which right now sits as the 4th or 5th pick in the draft, much better then the high 20's, low 30's pick the Patriots will give up. When the punishment was handed down the NFL was aware that the Pats had the 49ers pick and had every opportunity to say that they would forfeit the highest 1st round pick they had. If anything this will do nothing more then to save the Patriots from having to pay large guaranteed signing bonuses to two 1st round picks.
