This year's Madden cover boy, QB Vince Young hasn't suffered a traumatic injury (Yet?). He did miss the week 7 game against Houston with a strained quad. Young has struggled statistically this season only throwing for 3 TDs and rushing for 1. Also, Young hasn't thrown for more than 184 yards in a game this season, nor has he rushed for more than 53 yards in a game. However, Young and the Titans are 5-2 and in the thick of the AFC playoff hunt.
In a related story, the lawsuit brought by self proclaimed marketing agent Lloyd Lake against Reggie Bush, may actually force the NCAA to stop dragging their feet in their investigation of whether Reggie and his family received any improper benefits (the house his family was living in, the car he was driving, and cash) while playing for USC. For a more detailed look at the Reggie Bush situation and cast of characters (most of whom have criminal backgrounds) check out the Yahoo Sports! probe done by Charles Roninson and Jason Cole at: http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/news?slug=ys-bushprobe
If these allegations are proven to be true, Reggie's Heisman could be stripped, and given to the guy who finished in 2nd place, Vince Young! That wouldn't be so bad for a Madden cover guy, but then he would have to worry about the Heisman QB Jinx (unless your name is Carson Palmer.)
Do you think Vince Young has reversed the Madden Jinx?
