Ouch! My first losing week on NFL games, I was 2-4 for the week. I'm 33-15 for the season, 5-1 on Thursday games, 0-1 on Saturday games, 22-11 on Sunday games and 6-2 on Monday games.
Here are the Week 15 results;
1. Denver vs. Houston (Thurs.)
PICK: Denver RESULT: Texans 31-13 Houston played a balanced game led by QB Sage Rosenfels who threw for a TD and rushed for a TD. Denver's Brandon Marshall, was a one man show with 11 catches but couldn't do it by himself. Mario Williams sure looked like the #1 overall draft choice the Texans were hoping for with 3.5 sacks
2. Cincinnati vs. San Fransisco (Sat.)
PICK: Bengals RESULT: 49ers 20-13 The Bengals are a mess, QB Carson Palmer and WR Chad Johnson just don't look like they're not on the same page, they don't even look like they are using the same play book. It seems almost criminal (no pun on the Bengals off field activities) that the Bengals let QB Shaun Hill have his way with them, 75% passing and 2 total TDs. It was nice to see Frank "The Tank" Gore have a good game, even if it was against the Bengals. Earlier in the week, Marvin Lewis was asked about his D's struggles, and Lewis who was hired as a D specialist, said that's not my D, I have another responsibilities, What? I can't see Lewis coming back next season.
3. Washington vs. NY Giants
PICK: Giants RESULT: Redskins 22-10 Another abysmal game by the Giants, not sure they deserve to make the playoffs, after yet another 2nd half swoon this season. The Giants passing game hasn't been able to get on track in weeks, receivers dropping balls has not lallowed Eli, to gain any confidence. Why the Giants D waited until the 2nd half to blitz and put pressure on QB Todd Collins is beyond me. The Redskins look like a team who wants to be in the playoffs and the Giants look like a team that doesn't even want to play out December.
4. Chicago vs. Minnesota (Mon.)
PICK: Vikings RESULT: Vikings 20-13 The Vikings got their 5th straight win, while playing a sloppy game, but still seem to be the most deserving of the teams fighting for the NFC wildcard spots. QB Tavaris Jackson threw 3 INTs and lost a fumble, and while Peterson (Min) was not spectacular his 2 TDs were the difference. Kyle Orton did nothing to make the Bears think he can be the starter next season, but LB Brian Urlacher had his best game of the year making 6 tackles, a INT, Fumble Recovery and 2 sacks.
5. Jacksonville vs. Pittsburgh
PICK: Steelers RESULT: Jaguars 29-22 So much for the Steelers' undefeated play at home, dominating run D (224 yds allowed) and Florida teams not playing well in the cold and snow. The Jags had a late 22-7 lead before allowing the Steelers to tie the game at 22, then "Fountain of Youth" Fred Taylor scored the winning TD capping off his 147 yard day.
6. Arizona vs. New Orleans
PICK: Saints RESULT Saints 31-24 Nobody believed this game was going to be a defensive battle, and you were probably happy if you had one of these QBs on your fantasy team. Another solid game by RB Aaron Stecker (95 yds rushing, 6 rec, 46 rec yards, and 2 TDs) Watching Stecker's success, it kind of makes you wonder why Reggie Bush can't put up those types of numbers.
